Solar Punk Festival with Key Tech Labs at the New Start Community Garden. Volunteers needed for many different tasks. Set up, sign in booth, assisting at the Weed Warriors Nature Stewards booth, Burien Arts booth, runner for various sundry tasks, take down, too. It an all-day event, so many Community Service hours can be earned. Dress for the weather. Bring a water bottle. Food trucks may be on site or bring your own lunch. • ORCA Day Recovery - SPECIAL EVENT. 9701 Myers Way So, Seattle. Park in the parking area in front of Camp Second Chance. We'll remove Himalayan blackberries in the wetland area, the start of a salmon bearing creek that empties into the Duwamish River. Boots are advised, but not required. Gloves and tools provided. After Ocra Recovery Day, the project at the Myers Way wetland may resume again in February 2023, depending on the weather. Dates to be announced. In the meantime, for volunteers wanting community service hours or credit, contact Grace Stiller at 425.228.7927. We'll work at the New Start Community Garden in Burien where volunteer help is always appreciated.
